So..you wanna know about SMYG?

We are part of St. Matthew's Catholic Church of Virginia Beach, VA...and we have as much fun as possible grow in our Catholic faith! All high school youth are welcome to join us, Catholic or not. We meet regularly at the church, play frisbee/other games, and go on lots of trips! (Check out Stubes '07 to the left -- SMYG And St. Greg's to Atlanta!)

Our normal weekly schedule (starting after Labor Day):

Sundays:
3:30-4:30 pm: Praise and worship jam at the White House
4:30-5:30 pm: Apologetics/Bible Study (yup, at the White House)

Tuesdays:
3:30-5 pm: Pray at the abortion clinic on VA Beach Blvd.

Wednesdays:
7-9 pm: SMYG! The main youth group meeting...at the White House

Thursdays:
7-9 pm: Leadership meetings (once a month, at the White House)

Fridays:
7-9 pm: Game/movie/activity nights (random Fridays)

Saturdays:
11 am-1 pm: Vocations brunches at the Plex (once a month)
1-3 pm: Ultimate Frisbee/Airsoft/Soccer at Woodstock Park
6:30-9:30 pm: Young Fire Masses at Ascension (once a month)

Other stuff we do:

Check out the calendar page for more info on what's coming up this month/year...but we usually also:

Play with fun new people
(like sisters and brothers playing frisbee)

Go to at least two retreats with other churches --
like Stubenville and the Rez!

Go on mission trips (like to Central VA)

Go camping!

Have rock climbing lock-ins

Help parishioners with yard work and stuff like that

Go to the beach!

Rock out fun days at Bush Gardens

Take trips to visit monasteries/convents/seminaries/etc...

Most importantly: PRAY!!!
